Lots to like: endearing and detailed character work, gripping cliffhangers between sections, and surprisingly intimate reflections of Mandel's lived experience in the pandemic. Some of the time traveler premise and dialogue is cheesy enough to break the illusion, but it comes together enough for a satisfying ending.
