Fault Line
by Janet Tashjian
Entering my reviews over from my old Goodreads profile I unearthed recently...here are some super sappy thoughts from 2009-era 14-year-old Claire!
I've never been particularly sympathetic to the plight of victims of domestic abuse - I consider myself to be a strong woman, and I know (or mostly hope) that I would get out an abusive relationship - but this book made me feel for the narrator. She really couldn't find a way out. And her pain, although real and heartbreaking, was also beautifully illustrated.
2021 update: very mad at myself for this uncharitable, uninformed, and misogynistic take on domestic abuse.
