An Echo in the Bone by Diana Gabaldon
4.0

I struggled with book 6 because it's full of awful people and awful things, but this entry in the series is more of a fast-paced historical adventure. All kinds of intrigue and skullduggery related to the American revolution, wilderness adventures, and ancient plots coming to light. Claire gets to be a medical bad ass and I was super engaged with every adventure...EXCEPT Bree and Roger's storyline. Bree and Roger's story reads more like a modern-day thriller, which is not something I enjoy reading very much. I would sigh with disappointment when a Bree & Roger chapter started, and try to skim it to get back to the New World. Still liked it, more than book 6 and I was glad I could jump straight into book 8 since this one ends on 4 cliffhangers.
