I watched the movie first and cried because the story affected me so deeply. this book is so rich with themes of childhood SA, abuse, personal autonomy, love, freedom, and heartbreak. Being able to see the nuance and the true feelings of each character gave me such a deeper understanding of this story and made me love many characters and their arcs. I love that this story isn’t just about Oskar and Eli, it involves the whole town. This is one of my favourite books of all time as a prolific vampire lover.
