Home Sweet Christmas by Susan Mallery

Helen Crane is Jake’s mom and she is on a mission called “Project: Jake’s Bride” and she has a few candidates; one of them being Camryn Neff, who has moved to the town from Chicago!

Camryn grew up in that town, moved out, and is back there to take care of her half sisters since their mother has passed away. She has also taken over the family business, Wrap Around the Clock.

Camryn confronts Jake about this project and Jake says he will talk to his mom about it.

Not only has Helen meddled with her son’s love life, but she has rigged the Snow King and Queen results so that Jake’s best friend, Dylan to be the Snow King in hopes that he finds someone too!

Camryn’s friend, River, is new to town and she is trying to branch away from her shy self. Camryn and River’s friends decide to vote River to be this year’s Snow Queen and when she wins the vote, River is paired with the Snow King (Dylan) to attend the town’s holiday events.

What happens with River and Dylan? Does Jake put an end to Helen’s Project: Jake’s Bride?

This was a very cute holiday story and is a closed story romance book. There isn’t much spice, which was very refreshing to read! Certain conversations between the characters felt somewhat unnatural to me, but that really didn’t interfere with how much I really liked the characters. One part that I absolutelt loved was Camryn’s sisters, who are twins, had totally different interests and excelled in different subjects/hobbies. Being a twin, I find this really important and really enjoyed that this story didn’t include some sort of “twin swap.”
