This book perfectly continued the story and plot of the first one without skipping a beat. I loved being able to experience more of my favourite characters as well as meeting new ones. There are so many wonderful people (good and bad) that make this book so delicious to read.
I have never gone from hating one character, to kicking my feet and giggling over chickens so quickly before in my life. I really enjoyed how fleshed out the characters were and that we got to see new layers of all of them. And of course the romance was sizzling and spot on! I did not see the ending coming and I cannot wait for the next book to come out!
I did feel like the pacing was a little off in the first half, with it being a bit more political intrigue than daring adventure. But it was set up so well throughout the book that I understand the reasoning for it.
Thank you NerdFam for the ARC of this book!
