I freaking love this series and would recommend it to everyone who loves a good enemies-to-lovers, period romance with a twist. Lilly's passion for feminism against the hard stone that is Mr. Ambrose will remain one of my favorite pairings in the fiction world. The growth of both characters throughout the series is *chef's kiss.*
I want to so badly know what the reaction of the rest of London society's reaction to the engagement is.
I could read twenty more books about these two. Their banter is next level funny.

Some criticisms: I thought Mr. Ambrose's character a bit too much at times. We never really get a thorough explanation for why he specifically ran away to America and began his feud with Dalgliesh. There are some inconsistencies as well - Edmund dances with Lilly in book 3, then meets her again in book 4 and doesn't recognize her as Ella's sister and needs to be reintroduced. There are misspellings (at least on the Kindle version) and Adaira in book 4 is mysteriously called Ayla once near the end. I looked into it and the author has another book with a heroine named Ayla - maybe he was writing this one and that one at the same time? Who knows.
