The story is a really good one but for me it was just tooooo slow. The second half of the book puts some drama into the mundane or dull moments that are dragged on the first half. I almost gave up on this book because the first half was just too too slow moving. The story has some touching, sad and happy moments and there is quite a bit of emotion involved if you are invested in the characters. I just wish some of the drama of the second half had been weaved into the first half instead of waiting so long to bring light to what previously seemed unimportant. I really wanted to like this book like I loved “All the Light We Cannot See” or “Code Name Verity” but it just dragged too much for me to give it more stars.
