Archie knows that he is part of the new League of Seven and can’t wait to start going on adventures with Hatchie and Fergus. But Hatchie is consumed by her need for revenge and decides to follow the only lead she has to New Orleans. The massacre of every man in her village haunts her and she cannot rest or even fight the monsters she knows she must until she knows who and why. What she finds first is a terrible monster trying all it can to destroy New Orleans and what she finds second might destroy her. Archie has to go alone with Mr. Rivets to track down the Dragon Lantern a dangerous artifact that a fox eared girl who can shape shift has stolen from him. Along the way Archie discovers another hero or two and a dark secret that the Septemberists have long since buried and walked away from. With so much secrecy can Archie keep the new league together or will he crack? An amazing read, fast and interesting. For fans of Percy Jackson, Steam punk, and alternative history America. Fifth grade on up this is a series that I can’t wait to go out and buy for myself and read them again.
