Considering this is a sequel I did not expect it to be so good. The new characters stole my heart, and of course the old gang still has my heart. Ruby is such a good protagonist it's wild. She is strong and independent and courageous, I love her so much. The first book's overall story was better in my opinion, but Never Fade knocked it out of the park with the ending and plot twists and new conflicts (which for me pushed it up to a 5 star). That was one of the most heartbreaking but incredible endings I have ever read, and may be my favorite ending to a book. It wasn't exactly a cliffhanger but it was enough to make me want to get to the last installment as soon as I can. Bracken is honestly amazing and her imagery blows me away, it is so poetic and good. I am so happy with this sequel, just wow wow wow.
