His Hideous Heart: 13 of Edgar Allan Poe's Most Unsettling Tales Reimagined by Dahlia Adler

4.0

This collection of adaptations of 13 of Edgar Allen Poe’s works was creative, eerie, and fascinating. This is the perfect read for spooky season. In addition the collection includes the thirteen original tales as well. I think this book provides content for a powerful conversation on how writing can be adapted and reinterpreted, and how Edgar Allen Poe’s work is delightful, but that there are many ways that his stories can be reimagined to include topics such as technology, race, gender, and sexual orientation relevant to modern and diverse readers. I would highly recommend listening to this wonderful collection.
