There are parts of this book I feel like I’ve written in the hundreds of conversations I’ve had with people about these very ideas. About Judaism as a religion and its interactions with Zionism , about the way Zionist propaganda takes the focus off actual, current violence and puts it onto hypothetical violence, about the need for people to meet others and realize the dehumanization they’ve internalized. At the same time, perhaps just due to the nature of the book, it’s one of those things that emphasizes the conversation, the “dialogue” we must have. But if the problem is actually going to be solved, conversations will help, sure, but they won’t get us all the way there.
