Haroun and the Sea of Stories by Salman Rushdie

4.0

Have you ever wondered where stories come from? I didn't know it either, but Rushdie tells us that they come from Kahani, the earth's second moon, where one side is always dark and silent, while the other side is light and wonderfully noisy. When Haroun's father - the famous Shah of Blah - finds that his stream of stories has dried up, Haroun travels to the source of the trouble to try and fix it. Although I loved Luka, Haroun's younger brother (I read them in the wrong order, which doesn't really matter) a little bit more, I think both are wonderful father-and-son tales by a masterful storyteller.
