The Mystery of the Blue Train by Agatha Christie
5.0

I really enjoyed this Agatha Christie! There were several references and foreshadowing to her other novels so I had to look it up. “A number of firsts” including St. Mary Mead, the village where Miss Marple would come to live, an intro to Georges, Poirot’s valet, and Mr. Goby, a man who pops up in a few other books.

Poirot doesn’t appear until 27% of the way in to the book which was unusual to me. Up until that point I was unsure how it would go but that structure allows us to get to know the characters better first, and sets up the mystery. You think you know who the murderer was until the twists at the end!
