Very enjoyable book. I can’t say how much I love how the “big reveals” just aren’t hammed up or overdone. I find that this happen with book where the author doesn’t seem to realise that the “big reveals” aren’t actually big reveals to anyone, much less the reader. Sure, plenty of characters are surprised, but given the fact that the prophecy of the returning queen was known and believed, even seen, by many, I loved how it all happened with such aplomb and matter-of-factness. There was no milking of this to try make the story or deans more interesting. It already IS interesting, and I think the author placed good trust in this fact and let everything play out in a very sensible and believable manner. This series is quickly becoming a favourite of mine.
