We had a big car trip planned and since the kids have both shown an interest in audio books I purchased a set of [a:Roald Dahl|4273|Roald Dahl|http://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1311554908p2/4273.jpg] stories on CD. When I was looking through them I was surprised to see one that I'd never even heard of (given that I'd ravenously devoured everything else Mr Dahl has written when I was growing up), so we listened to it.
It's a very short story and didn't end at all as I expected. It seemed to be missing the usual Dahl-darkness, which isn't to say it was lacking in any way, I greatly enjoyed it, as did the kids, but I was surprised, especially when it finished all of a sudden (which is a trick audio books can pull on you that their more traditional physical brethren can not).
Certainly there's no moral here, if anything, it's egregiously and unashamedly immoral, but Mr Dahl was never a stickler for social mores!
