Sticking with the fomulaic template from the first two, the author used Wuthering Heights as a comparison/contrast for the main characters. The overall story arc is still evident and compelling and while some parts felt like the reader is being drug around by the nose rather than being enticed along a path, the compelling writing makes up for much of it.
