Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones

5.0

One of my all-time favorite books, Howl's Moving Castle is everything I could want in a story. Diana's ability to imbue magic into daily life is something that obviously translated very well into the movie adaptation.

If you've watched the movie first and are now reading the book, do not expect them to be exactly alike. That, however, is what makes them both such unique journies for the reader/viewer. Most of the characters are the same but their stories are vastly different from the movie.

The book is a wonderful ride from start to finish, with a lot more complexity (in my humble opinion) than the movie. From the characters' backstories to the magic mechanics, it is definitely worth reading!

DISCLAIMER: I love both the book and the movie equally as they both have something lovely to offer.
