I went into this very excited. I enjoy reading about cults and looks at fictional cults are fascinating and allow the author to come up with the most convoluted and intriguing storylines possible.
The problem I had with this is that it became too predictable. The first 1/4 of the book was fairly intriguing if a little slow, but once the story picked up I was able to predict each thing that would happen next. Everything that was supposed to be a twist was something I had already said “oh this is going to happen next”. My other problem is that a what was sold as a big piece *spoiler* the dolls, ends up being unimportant and feels like a thread that goes nowhere. < /spoiler>
Overall this book was okay. Nothing amazing, but not unreadable either. I think those new to thrillers and mysteries would enjoy it more than I do.
