Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction #1 by Inio Asano

5.0

This work is set 3 years after the initial shock of an alien invasion, and well, in the current time, the mothership is kind of still there. The center of the story is a friend group of girls who, even if a giant alien ship is constantly hovering over the city they live in, still have to go to school and go on with their normal lives.

The work was written before the pandemic, but the aspect of living in changing times (the pandemic, the climate crisis) but also living one's normal life nonetheless resonates with me. I'm curious how the two parts of the story, the mystery of the alien invasion and the slice-of-life part about the girls, will connect, and the unique art style supports the story well.
