Compelling!! For the first 3/4 of the book I was thinking hmmm, good, but not as good as Cruel Prince (to be fair, few things could be). However, the book took a sharp turn towards the end that has made me much more excited for the next installment. My favorite character by far is Suren. I love how raw and real her narration feels. She is a very different narrator than Jude, but I enjoyed all the differences. And as per usual, I love Holly Black’s world building!! I really enjoy how the fae are otherworldly and monstrous the way they are in folklore and mythology, rather than just hot humans with pointed ears and magic
