Maybe We Should by Melissa Foster

This follows the journey of Cait and Brant. Cait is new to the Island on which Brant has spent his entire life. Cait was adopted as a baby, and recently learned about her birth mother and two half sisters. She has reconnected with them and now divides her time between the Island and the Cape where she has friends that are her family. Brant had instant attraction right away to Cait and has been trying to get close to her ever since, Cait has had experiences that have left her traumatized and slow to trust and has avidly avoided being alone with him since meeting him a few months ago.

Their story, despite the very heavy and deep topics brought up, was a lighthearted and sweet romance. Brant is definitely more of a Beta hero - he is charming, funny, patient and able to handle anything that Cait throws his way, but it was almost too much so and it seemed at times our only glimpses of him were in his feelings for and thoughts around Cait. Overall this is a very heartwarming story about finding yourself and your friends and family along the way. I'm now planning to go and read Tank's story(Cait's boss and best friend).
