The Crown of Gilded Bones by Jennifer L. Armentrout
4.0
When starting this book I genuinely thought that this book was the culmination of the series and I was actually kind of disappointed but also pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t and that we would get getting another three books and some spin-offs...
I really enjoyed this book however I’m not sure that I loved it as much as I loved the first two books - jury is still out on that.
I loved how badass Poppy was throughout the book but especially in the last few chapters after Cas gives himself over to keep her safe. She kind of loses it a bit which I thought was so apt, she needed something big like losing her husband to kickstart her powers into overdrive, she needed some kind of motivation to become to Queen she was meant to be. And can we just talk about that final speech to the revenant? IMPECCABLE, wow, just wow SO GOOD, an absolute power move.
I do feel slightly disappointed at the spice levels in this book - I was expecting a lot more and I feel like we probably got a very small percentage of how much spice was in the other two books. Although, that scene with Willa’s diary?
