It was a good follow up and had very loveable characters. I don’t feel like you need to read the first book to follow along with this one which I appreciate in a series. This relationship had a lot of mentions of spousal abuse and other challenging issues which while important to talk about really did take you out of the romance plot. Especially because we don’t see a lot of growth and healing from our main character
