I was surprised by how taken I was with this book. I found myself wrapped up and finished it in 3 days.
At its core I thought it was a really beautiful expression of the battle between self-sacrificing duty versus freedom... and the way the story played out overall gave me a real sense of sadness. But I love a sad story.
