The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman

funny mysterious

3.5

This did eventually get interesting and a little bit fun, but it took so much work to get there. The beginning was very, very slow, there were so many characters introduced and the POV jumped around so much that it took a long time to keep everyone straight. I also didn't ever really click with the writing style.

I did, however, love the energy and antics of the Thursday Murder Club members. It reminded me of a very specific scene from Doctor Who that always makes me laugh (for anyone else who watches, it involves Donna Noble's granddad Wilf and his elderly friends tracking down The Doctor).

I'm going to try the next book in hopes that knowing all the main characters already means it will start off more quickly...? We shall see.
