This debut fantasy romance is a promising start of The Bronze and Blood Saga by M. K. Deoradhán. The world building in this story is detailed and well crafted for our next instalment of the saga. We enter a world of deadly trials where our two main characters take part. Our main characters are both fierce and loyal and will do what is needed to protect their own. We also have some lovable side characters, like Cato who is the embodiment of a true friend, Sabina and Alessandra. The magic system in this book takes a backseat and it's still a bit of a mistery. I'm hoping to see more context of it that connects to the world building of the story in the next book. What is more present in this first book is the second chance romance and deadly trials. The romance is a perfectly made slow burn and pinning between both characters. I loved every part of it. Seeing the progress of their relationship throughout the story was worth the wait. It only has one spice scene and it's not overly explicit. The plot is interesting on it's own and although it's medium-pace, it keeps you invested with some twist along the way. Be aware that grief is a strong theme in this story and it is mentioned multiple times in the book. One trope I think is present in this story is found family, I feel it sneaked its way in the story and it was beautiful seeing how it evolved.

I can't wait for book two of The Bronze and Blood Saga! I am ready to see the progression of this story and characters alike.

Thank you M. K. Deoradhán for the honor of reading your debut romantic fantasy!
