While there is something about this author that intrigues me, her book is too long, her characters don’t talk enough, and her imagery goes from beautiful to tedious. There is no clear moral line, which may be the point of her novel, but for me, makes the morally grey characters of her book seem out of place. Definitely prefer “If We Were Villains” to this book.
