Blood & Betrayals by Jeanette Rose, Alexis Rune
5.0
Happy release day! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Did I finish this book or did this book finish me? No seriously, the emotional rollercoaster I just went through over the course of ~almost~ one thousand pages has left me desperate for the next book!
Blood & Betrayals follows Summer, a fae from the lost realm of Fairie, who gets accepted into Avalon University, an elite institution full of various supernatural species where they learn to hone their magic. Summer finds everything she’s never had: Love, friendship and belonging. However, this comes with it’s own issues – Summer gains a stalker and gets caught up in the middle of an ongoing murder mystery.
Summer is definitely your easily relatable, tortured past lead. She’s emotionally guarded and sharp tongued, but she has such a well developed character arc over the course of the book. Asides from Summer, I honestly fell in love with the rest of the characters. Alice was probably my favourite—she’s hilarious and fiesty, and she and Summer were the ultimate besties.
This book was definitely not lacking in scorching hot, tongue wagging male characters either, that’s one thing for sure
