<spoilers>  I…. I loved all of Joya Goffney’s books so far and while I liked this one I didn’t love it, that ending though???? Had me fucking bawling.

First thing first I wanted to fight everyone in Nikki’s life including Mal… Nikki was being manipulated, mentally abused, gaslighted and more in this book by her mum, sister and even Mal, like no one was genuinely getting her and thoughts and reasonings which pissed me off constantly.

Nikki’s mum kicking her daughter out over some bullshit and not listening didn’t reside well with me and then her mum basically gaslighting her and being snarky for an issue she caused irritated me, I wanted to fight her so bad.

The whole Vae being missing was unnecessary and felt like attention seeking… Vae knew she messed up bad, made her sister take the blame and acted like the victim????? What????

Mal and Nikki were sweet but they confused me… how does one break up with a girl just like that and start making out with another within 24 hours?? Is that no madness??? And yeah it was nice that Mal finally supported Nikki’s choices at the end, him essentially gaslighting her throughout the book was jarring.

The only likeable characters were Nikki and Mr and Mrs Brown….
