I listened to the audiobook version of this performed by Rosamund Pike and she acted her absolute heart out. I tried reading this series several times in the past but was unable to get into it due to the slow pacing. But, hearing her telling of it and having her act everything out made this book absolutely irresistable. Even though a lot of the book is a bit mundane - they are basically running from monsters the whole time - the way Rosamund acts it out makes it all salient and interesting. My favorite parts were the random lore drops about the world. I also love the scene where Min reads the pattern, I thought she was so cool and I hope she comes back! I also yelled out loud when Rand tells the Dark One to fuck off at the end. Great read! I can tell this is only the beginning of a big long epic series. Even though the pacing was slow, I like how mysterious it is and how it grounds you fully in their world.
