While the first half of the book felt like nothing was really happening, and a lot of the “revelations” felt repetitive, I did enjoy this book. I think the marketing as a thriller/mystery is misguided. This is definitely not a thriller, and there is really no mystery. This is much more of a psychological character study. If I had gone in with proper expectations, I may have enjoyed it more. As it was, I did enjoy Sally’s character development, but found the ending to be a bit flat and disappointing. The book is very much a slow burn, but the ending felt abrupt and left me wanting more, but not in a good way.
