Sweet Temptation
by Cora Reilly
More of a 3.75-star read for me. The book started off super strong, like, I was hooked in the first 100 pages or so. Then it kind of lost me for a bit… I found myself not as invested in what was happening with the characters. But thankfully, it picked back up in the last 30 pages and totally pulled me back in. So yeah, bit of a rollercoaster.
The characters were definitely a highlight. I really liked Giulia. She’s sweet and innocent, sure, but she’s also got a backbone. She stands up to Cassio, she’s witty and stubborn, and her sass actually makes sense within the story. Loved that.
Cassio was a surprisingly great MMC. He’s loyal, thoughtful, and not the usual broody cardboard cutout you sometimes get in romance, which was refreshing.
Also, can we talk about the fact that the story spans 10 years? I loved that. It gave the relationship and the characters real depth and made the payoff at the end feel earned
