My main complaints: if you are writing above middle grade/beginning high school level, said is very much not dead & laugh and/or giggle is way less grating than a million “chuckles.” I probably wouldn’t have noticed this via any other form besides audio but having extra pain means I’m using audio only right now & really, I’ve never been so annoyed by adjectives besides said or exclaimed or asked being overused as I was with this otherwise lovely story to get lost in when life is being dumb.
