So, I predicted from the beginning that Harry was somehow related to the Hawthorne family (that was PRETTY obvious like come on). As Avery called Harry an OLD MAN, I thought HE WAS TOBIAS HAWTHORNE but then when Nan showed her Toby's photo and she said she knew this man my mind instantly clicked that Toby IS HARRY.

So ALL of this set up is just for an anagram "a very risky gamble"? This is so underwhelming. Also, I couldn't care less about the whole Emily issue. The only character I found more likeable than anyone else is Alexander. I didn't quite like the over repetitiveness of the certain phrases Avery ran in her mind. Clearly it didn't add much to the story. Regarding the love triangle, I agree with someone pointing out here there wasn't any actual build up to Grayson from wanting to kill her to willing to protect her at all cost. The author tried to make it a mystery case by adding hidden compartments, tunnels, secret passages and what not. But the results didn't live up to it in my opinion. That being said, I liked HOW this gigantic house turned out to be a city on its own. I mean ignoring the rest, it had five libraries?! Say no more. You may be wondering all I've done for the most part is negative talking then why did I rate it as high as 3.00? The first reason being I listened to the audiobook that made it less irritating than it actually was. Second of all, I didn't quite dislike it. I just found it less entertaining than I initially thought out to be. I will still continue reading the series because I don't like dropping them the middle way.
