Shout out to the CAWPILE method in helping me decide on a rating for this bloody little gem.

This story begins with our FMC college student wanting to date an affluent guy with the hopes of meeting his mother who runs a fashion magazine so she can get her foot in the door to the world of design. When he invites her to his family’s Easter getaway on a private island, she soon learns that what she’s gotten herself into has taken a very sinister turn.

The Ready or Not vibes were pretty spot on, although the deep seated reasons behind the book packs more of a punch regarding societal issues Dawson tackles here.

I loved the conversation surrounding intentions and vengeance after everything the hired help has gone through while working for such a horrendous wealthy family.

This book held my attention until the very end and I thought the story wrapped up nicely without leaving me wanting more. A perfect novella for anyone wanting a “stick it to the big guy” sort of plot line that doesn’t shy away from gore!
