The Radleys by Matt Haig

3.0

Vampires living in suburbia trying to abstain from their blood thirsty ways - the children in the family don’t initially know they are vampires, they are just very sickly and need lots of factor 60 suncream. However, events unfold at a teenage party which set the wheels in motion uncovering various secrets /lies.

An interesting view on both the monotonous safety of village life and the reality that you don’t really know who is living next door to you/what secrets your partner may be keeping from you.

Slightly Harry Potterish with references to the UPU (Unamed Predator Unit) - I.e. the authorities know about the vampires living amongst us and work with them to limit the impact of their existence.
