Looking for Alaska by John Green
2.0

When I read this in 2013, I wasn't aware of how shallow, annoying, and uneventful this book was. Not only that, but I've found that the way John Green writes his female characters is usually in a "she's a mystery, not a girl" kind of way. He idealizes the girl, and it makes her feel like less than human. I.e. Alaska and Margo. I will always like this book for what it did for me when I first read it, but when I take another look, it isn't as good as I thought it once was.
