Eddie: Grime Doesn't Pay by Z.A. Maxfield

3.0

This is your usual Z.A. Maxfield.
I know ZAM said that idea for this series was born, because she wanted to read (and write) about characters with unusual jobs. With this second installment we get to see broader aspect of things Grime company is dealing with.
Eddie is one of the partners in Grime company and he has hots for his niece's teacher. Attraction is mutual, and after couple of dates it only grows stronger. Andrew (aka, hot teacher) has family issue he is very ashamed of and reluctant to tell anyone about it. As it happens, Eddie is exactly the person to deal with it and he hides secrets he's ashamed of himself.
I read pre-release interview so I knew what was Andrew's problem, but I think I would enjoy it more if I didn't know. This way I was just waiting that to appear.
SpoilerThis is second hoarding story I read this year and both in same genre.

I have to admit I didn't remember much about him from first book, but I like the type of hero Eddie is. Eddie is one of those Caretaker heroes. He is a big guy, loyal to the bone, with calming effect on others and always ready to help. He has inborn ability to do and say just the right things when people are upset or stressed. Andrew on the other hand is really forward and straight to the point. Thus, their fundamentally different natures make interesting dynamic in bed.
I remember I liked Jack&Ryan's date in first book and since Eddie&Andrew's date was the best part of this story, maybe author should write a book only about dates.
