overall i really enjoyed reading this book. It was super fun, lighthearted and was a fast read.
The plot is pretty unique as the plot mainly revolves around STEM, academia and all that nerdy shit. I really loved how the strong depict how tough getting a phd was and just pursing education in general so it was quite refreshing and interesting living through the characters lives.
Generally, all the characters are pretty interesting and are imperfect in different ways. I loved how Olive is such a nice and kind hearted person, willing to go out of her ways to do things for her friends. Though some of her actions are kind of questionable and stupid. She’s also such a door mat and an impulsive liar HAHAH though i love that about her because she’s basically me. I love Adam and how perfect and patient he was. but i do hope he became nicer to his students like broo he’s actually so mean though
I love love love the chemistry between Adam and Olive. It just felt so natural: the conversation they had, their interactions and their actions. They are so cute and you really could see where and when they fell in love with each other without them confirming their attractions towards each other.
All the other characters were great. I really love how there were background stories for Adam and Olive and it just make so much sense how the past influenced their behaviour and actions. Also loved how the author gave the other side characters stories too:)
The reason why i didn’t give 5 stars was because i felt the smut scenes were a bit weird. I’m not sure if it was just me or i felt like they were going at it for so long but nothing was really happening. Additionally, Olive was saying stop and wasn’t too sure in wanting to do sex but Adam kept going at it. It made me felt so confused because afterwards Olive was fine with Adam going down on her but at the same time it just felt wrong that Adam didn’t stop? Idk if it was just me who was a bit bother by the smut part
Overall, it was such a good read. I’m so happy i picked it up, i hope others don’t too bothered that it’s related to a reylo fanfic and pick it up too!
