Strong character development: Yes
The smuttiness ruined the book for me, as did some parts feeling unrealistic. I also didn’t like that
a part of what ruined their childhood relationship was Elliott being too drunk to realize who he was sleeping with.
There was good character development though.
It took so much strength and growth for Macey not to blame Elliot for killing her father (the affair, which led to the car accident shortly after in which Macey’s dad died)
