The Sea Sisters by Lucy Clarke

5.0

This is a beautiful book and is one of my favourite reads that I've read this year. I liked how it explored the bond between the sisters, loving but so complex at times. The mystery of what happened to Mia was portrayed wonderfully even though she frustrated me at times and I found myself needing to know what had happened next. I loved the fact that Katie grew and changed throughout the novel, although I found the ending sweet but I still felt bad that Katie had lost her mother and her sister. The only thing I disliked is the fact that Katie didn't read the journal all in one go to find the answers, instead she read page by page, as I felt that wasn't so realistic because any normal person wouldn't have that kind of restraint, But I suppose it had to happen that way because of how the book was set out but I might just be saying that because I know I wouldn't have that kind of restraint.

I recommend this book, it's worth a read if you like the premise. I will be checking out any future books that this author publishes because she writes beautifully. The writing was so vivid that I could easily imagine the places that Katie and Mia travelled to.
