The Collectors: Stories
by A.S. King
I thought this was a really fascinatingly eclectic anthology of mainly family-centric short stories. However, some felt a bit on the nose in their messaging and imagery(perhaps intended for a younger audience?) And so I feel that I wasn't truly connected to these stories, they were ephemeral amusement. My favourite stories were of the grandmother with dementia and the god who stilled time as their tone was more contemplative and comfortable to read, whereas others were altogether more mentally abrasive such as the museum -based story. Still, I don't really have any complaints ; neither do I have any shining compliments.
