i wanted to like this book so badly. i genuinely enjoy greek mythology and i thought Song of Achilles could’ve been so strong with just some editing for pacing issues. but this book never got me captivated. i never got invested in any of the characters which is a problem for a story with no plot and that relies almost entirely on character development. arguably the most interesting part of the story was in the final 5 chapters and felt brief and rushed which didnt allow us to have a proper resolution of her development as a person.

i’m not sure what could have been done differently- perhaps character driven books aren’t my vibe. i know this book is loved by so many im so sad im missing out on that
