Well Bred
by Adriana Anders
This is my first book by the author and in summary - I really liked the concept & story, thought the writing could have been a little sharper but I really struggled with understanding the FMC.
So first - I loved the plot and the idea that they're basically strangers who are signed up to make a baby (ngl, it's one of my fav tropes). It's pretty rich ground for opposites attract, relationship building and watching them slowly fall for each other.
The writing was a little hard for me to follow but generally ok - it was a good read. What I struggled with the most was the FMC. Kit was inconsistent as a character and I thought the lady doth protest too much. I get the idea that she's resisting her attraction to him but it really felt like she was all over the place with her reactions, so I couldn't quite get comfortable with her or really understand her.
Overall - it's a really good, relatively quick read & I am actually going to read the second book, as well as any others from this author. I just thought there were some missed opportunities that would make this book really great.
