I just couldn't get through it. I had to abandon it about two-thirds of the way through. It's well-written, the structure is interesting, but I just couldn't engage with it. There's a lot of generational trauma that the narrator is absolutely mired in, and she struggles to find her way out. The author's depiction of the mental rut the narrator is in is probably psychologically accurate, but after a while it became so repetitive that I started looking ahead at how much more of the book there was to go. I have never read sex scenes in a book so graphically yet drily written. I'm not particularly sensitive to the word "fuck," but it was the over-use of that word that eventually became the last straw for me.
