Shanghailanders

Basically read this book in two sittings - couldn’t put it down. Felt like there was more I wanted to know, since each chapter was a vignette of a family - father, mother, grandmother, and three daughters- and their staff (their driver, their nanny) going backwards in time over the decades, and the endings felt abrupt sometimes! Loved how each chapter alternated narration between the characters’ POVs.
