Bullshit Jobs: A Theory by David Graeber

5.0

Very refreshing. While the first half of the book felt a bit too repetitive with varied people sharing their experiences with bullshit jobs (though still interesting indeed), I highly recommend the book – it is very valuable and, of course, poignant. But the unfortunate implications of neoliberal capitalism (which is founded on the exploitation of humans lives, labour and natural resources) should be named and pointed out again and again – and this book made just that in an understandable a not complicated-jargon-heavy way.

Such naming and pointing out of the elephant in the room makes us more educated, so we are able to better identify how this toxic system we live in operates, and possibly offer us a bit more hope and some practical measures how to secure a different life and a future.
