This memoir was much better than I was expecting it to be. The author actually has an interesting point of view and seemed to wrestle with her choices. She also has creative passions that preceded her time in the harem. Hell, trust me, had I been pretty and sexy and opportune enough to be in the harem of the Prince of Brunei for a few months and leave with a bunch of cash and a new wardrobe, I'm sure I would have done this at 18, too.
