I loved it. So much. And now I have other books on my shelf but I can't bring myself to open them because I'm still reeling from this book. If I wasn't so emotionally numb, I would've definitely cried. You love the characters. Even the bad guy (I'll be honest I liked him a bit too much and that's a deeper-rooted issue). The story is engaging and the development is fascinating. Though a fantasy, it doesn't feel so far removed from reality; I wouldn't go as far as to call it magical realism. I'm typically not a huge fan of when multiple stories jump back and forth, but it was executed well here. But oof, I'm gonna be thinking about this book for a while.
